Company History

1949 The STATOMAT company is founded and begins production of tools and technical equipment components.

Co-founders and co-owners are Messrs. Balzer and Dröll

1956-1957 STATOMATmanufactures the first stator-slot-insulation machines and bandaging machines. This represents a first step toward completely mechanized stator production.

At this point in time, STATOMAT is the only company engaged in the production of these specialized machines.

Initial successes are celebrated in Bergen-Enkheim

1958 STATOMATdevelops a new generation of stator winding and insertion machines:

The "Z-Winder Generation", winding stations with compulsory spool stripping

1967 A new plant is built and occupied in Niederdorfelden. Continued expansion of production.

1971 STATOMAT is firmly established in the global market as a leading producer of specialized machines and tools for stator production.
1975-1978 Branch facilities are founded in Brazil, Great Britain and the USA.
1979 Continuous development and improvement of stator winding and insertion machines leads to the development of the "M-Winder Generation":

a new technology based on a modular, microprocessor-controlled system.

1981-1982 STATOMAT constructs the first fully automated stator production line for the manufacture of refrigerator compressors – total line length 40 m. This is the first facility of its kind in the world.
1992 Rapid expansion of the market in India leads to the foundation of a subsidiary in Bombay as part of a joint-venture merger.
1994-1995 STATOMAT introduces a completely new type of winding machine: the "A-Winder Generation":

a PC-controlled winding machine using a WINDOWS operating system.

1992 ELMOTEC GmbH is founded in Karben

Initial manufacture and sales of specialized machines and systems for the production of electrical motors.

Safety, economy and reliability, coupled with new-age microprocessor technology, these are the hallmarks of ELMOTEC machines and systems.

 

1995 ELMOTEC occupies its new plant in Karben. Production continues to expand.

1998 ELMOTEC acquires STATOMAT

The shareholding directors of the two companys are:

  • Sadik Sadiku

 ELMOTEC-STATOMAT is the world's leading supplier of specialized machines and system for electrical motor production.

2000 Additional office and production buildings are added to the Headquarters in Karben.

2001 As a result of the growing number of Mexican motor manufacturers and Mexican subsidiaries of US motor manufacturers Elmotec Statomat de México S.A. de C.V. is founded in Monterrey, Mexico.
